I was obnoxiously driven to succeed as an artist: Taylor Swift

Los Angeles: Don`t get fooled by the `girl next door` look of country singer Taylor Swift, who has admitted of being obsessed to succeed as an artist since childhood. "I have been singing randomly, obsessively, obnoxiously for as long as I can remember," Swift told Marie Claire magazine.
"My parents have videos of me on the beach at, like, 3, going up to people and singing Lion King songs for them. I was literally going from towel to towel, saying, `Hi, I`m Taylor. I`m going to sing "I Just Can`t Wait to Be King" for you now.`," she added. The 20-year-old singer, who grabbed four Grammy Awards this year, including Album of the Year for `Fearless`, insists that despite her rise to fame, the motivation and drive remains the same in her life. "I love having a goal, feeling like I`m on a mission," she says. "I love trying to beat what I`ve done so far ? I think about my next move 10 steps ahead. I`m always planning three award shows ahead. For me, planning is a productive way of stressing out about your life," Swift said. "Everyone in my life knows, whenever something happens, the only way it`s going to be over and finished and put to bed is if it`s written about," she added. PTI
