Mumbai: After the success of `Bhaag Milkha Bhaag`, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar feels it`s the best time for him as an actor as he is spoilt for choice with great roles coming his way.
"There are a lot of interesting scripts that are coming my way. And you are in a dilemma which one to start doing first. It is important to think what to do next. You want to work with good people and yet ensure to entertain the audience. It is the best time for me," Farhan told reporters in an exclusive interview here.
As an actor, success does taste a bit differently today to the 39-year-old actor-filmmaker after two consecutive hits.
"It (success of a film) gives you the freedom to choose the right project out of the many interesting things offered to you. There is whole concept of bankable actor and it leaves you with more choices. I feel happy about it," Farhan said.
"I am meeting producers, directors who I look forward to working. But what is exciting for me is what my next film is going to be like... As you want to focus your energies on what is going to come than what has happened," he said.
Now that Farhan is getting appreciation for his acting skills, direction is going to take a back seat for him.
"There is acting, there is production and writing that will go on. I will start working on Zoya Aktar`s next film as a dialogue writer, there is a girl named Nitya Mehra who has worked with us as an assistant for various films and will be making her first film. So I would probably be doing dialogue for that as well," he said.
"Writing is something I can do at my own time and pace. Currently directing is not something I am focusing on in this coming year," he adds.
Farhan is happy that he has achieved success as an actor since the time he embarked on this new journey.
"There will be good and bad times. You fail and succeed on your beliefs. I hope I can continue to entertain the audience. Nobody has a 100 per cent hit ratio in the world. You choose to do the work that you feel drawn towards creatively. Even if the film does not do well, you are still happy that you were involved with the film," he added.
His next film as an actor is `Shaadi Ke Side Effects` opposite Vidya Balan.
