Kapil Sharma-BMC row: RTI activist files complaint, accuses comedian of destroying mangroves

Bollywood actor and ace comedian Kapil Sharma has come under the spotlight since the time he took to social networking site Twitter to voice his concern over bribery prevalent in Mumbai's civic body.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor and ace comedian Kapil Sharma has come under the spotlight since the time he took to social networking site Twitter to voice his concern over bribery prevalent in Mumbai's civic body.

His tweets regarding corruption in BMC called for immediate attention, as political bigwigs expressed varied opinions on social media platforms.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis too took to Twitter and asked Kapil to provide all the necessary details. He assured him that strictest action will be taken against the culprit.

However, Kapil soon received a notice for 'illegal construction'.

 

Adding to the row, RTI activist Asad Patel filed a complaint against the actor-comedian stating that the office construction destroyed mangroves, as reported by ANI.

ANI reported, that the complaint filed by RTI activist Asad Patel was registered in the Versova Police Station. Police are currently investigating the matter.

Rajkumar Laxman A. Rajhans, advocate of Patel in the application said his client stated that no action has been taken against Kapil Sharma and his hirelings for illegal construction, encroachment, illegal eco-destruction, destroying and theft of mangorves and debris dumping.
