Mark Ruffalo gets environmental leadership award
London: Actor Mark Ruffalo has been honoured with the Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award for his contribution to environmental causes.
Ruffalo received the award in recognition of his campaigning to end the use of hydrofracking, a controversial technique which uses chemicals to remove natural gas from rocks, reports dailystar.co.uk.
Millennium Awards, which were held in Santa Monica, California on Saturday by anti-climate change organisation Global Green USA, also felicitated American actor and environmentalist Ed Begley Jr. with Individual Environmental Leadership award.
Stars including Orlando Bloom, Jamie Lee Curtis and Michelle Rodriguez came to support the cause.
