Mumbai: Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who delivered blockbusters like ‘Khamoshi’ and ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in the past, are believed to have developed difference of opinion ever since the latter’s film ‘Guzaarish’ starring Hrithik Roshan hit the silver screen.
Salman had reportedly passed lewd remarks about the film that triggered a massive controversy. Buzz has it that the ace director has acquired the rights to the remake south Indian super-hit film ‘Kanchana’. But Salman was keen to remake the film in question and wanted his brother Sohail to direct the same. Talking to a tabloid, a source said, “There have been a lot of rumours about ‘Kanchana’s remake. At the time when Salman was said to acquire the film, he was supposed to play the lead role in the film.” “Salman and Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s enmity is not new and this development seems to have taken their acrimony to a whole new level,” added the source. Salman and Bhansali had also teamed up for Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor’s debut film ‘Saawariya’ that proved to be a dud at the Box Office. And since then haven’t worked together. Only time will tell whether ‘Kanchana’ will widen the rift between the two industry heavyweights or the duo set aside all the differences and extend an olive branch.
