Washington: Sharon Osbourne has defended her pal Holly Robinson Peete’s decision to auction an adorable puppy at the Annual Design Care charity event.
She and her husband Ozzy had arrived at the event to support her The Talk co-host’s charity foundation, and when she fell in love with a tiny Yorkshire Terrier pup there, the former Black Sabbath frontman paid 10,000 dollars to get it for her. Peete’s decision to include an animal in the lot was slammed by Animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta), but Osbourne insists the move gave an abandoned dog a loving home. “I don’t agree with Peta’s criticism of @Hollyrpeete for auctioning a rescue dog at her HollyRod charity event,” Contactmusic quoted her writing on her Twitter.com page. “Not only did @Hollyrpeete help place a rescue dog, she also raised money for Autism which is doubly-good,” she added.
