Mumbai: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone might have been on cloud nine while celebrating her new plush abode at Prabhadevi, one of Mumbai’s most expensive localities. But her celebrations came to a sudden halt when the Mumbai police barged in to her apartment following complaints from her neighbours.
Wondering why? Like all celebrities, Deepika too went uncontrollably joyous making merry that she did not realise the music that was playing was too loud for her neighbours.
Talking to a daily, an eyewitness said, "A police patrolling van stopped outside the building around 3.15am. An officer went to Padukone`s flat on the 26th floor. We learnt that local residents had called up the police control room complaining of loud music.``
The dimpled hottie’s `Break Ke Baad` co-star Imran Khan and his Avantika soon left the venue. Business tycoon Vijay Mallya, Abhay Deol and his partner Preeti Desai too left as soon as the Police shunned the bash.
The other guests to grace Deepika’s party were Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, alleged beau Siddharth Mallya, Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D`Souza, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma,
However, the Dadar Police had a contradictory story to tell. An officer denied having received any complaint against Deepika and said, "Our team went to the building as a large number of people had gathered downstairs, including mediapersons, and we didn`t want a law and order problem cropping up."
