Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia case: Actress meets Mumbai Police Commissioner

Actress Preity Zinta met Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria on Monday, at police headquarters regarding the case that she has filed against her former boyfriend Ness Wadia.

New Delhi: Actress Preity Zinta met Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria on Monday, at police headquarters regarding the case that she has filed against her former boyfriend Ness Wadia. Preity gave a written complaint on June 13, following which an FIR was registered against Wadia under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). She has recorded her statement after returning from the US, and key witnesses were named in the statement, including a renowned cricketer`s minor son. The police have so far recorded statements of 9 witnesses in connection with the complaint filed by the 39 year-old actress. The Marine Drive Police station has started looking into the CCTV footage and video-clips they acquired from a leading channel regarding the spat that took place between the former lovers. The incident supposedly took place on May 30 during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Wankhede stadium in South Mumbai. The match was between Chennai Super Kings and Kings X1 Punjab. However, even after 15 days since Preity filed a complaint against Ness, the police have neither arrested Wadia nor recorded his statement,
