Rachel Bilson calls off engagement with lover

Los Angeles: American actress Rachel Bilson has called off her engagement with lover Hayden Christensen.

The 28-year-old actress, who shot to fame after starring in television drama `The OC` met Christensen on the sets of the 2007 film `Jumper` and got engaged the following year. Reports have been doing the rounds that they were going through a rough patch, but now the split is permanent, a news website reported. "Yes, the engagement is off," Bilson`s representative said, but declined to provide details on the breakup. Apparently, distance was one of the main reasons for the couple to head for splitsville as Christensen stayed in Canada while Bilson was based here. "It just wasn`t working out. She is focusing on her career, spending time with her family and just moving forward," says a pal of the actress. Prior to Christensen, Bilson dated Adam Brody for three years, her co-star on `The OC`. Their relationship ended in 2006. PTI
