Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is always in the news for wrong reasons. The director, who directed films like 'Jungle', 'Satya' and 'Company', has approached the city police seeking to file a complaint against a local Telugu TV channel alleging that it had telecast a programme that defamed him.

Hyderabad: Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has approached the city police seeking to file a complaint against a local Telugu TV channel alleging that it had telecast a programme that defamed him.

Varma made an oral complaint to Hyderabad City Police Commissioner A K Khan alleging that the channel by telecasting a programme on last Wednesday had defamed his personality and launched a false campaign. The TV channel reportedly passed some comments on Varma`s direction of films (Hindi and Telugu) which he felt were offending. "It (programme content) had nothing to do with the critics` views but it was a personal attack on me," Varma said in conversation with the same channel in the evening. The Police Commissioner asked Varma to file a complaint in writing, sources said. PTI
