Ronnie Wood chooses ex bandmate Rod Stewart as best man for wedding

Ronnie Wood has asked old pal and Faces band mate Rod Stewart to be best man at his wedding.

London: Ronnie Wood has asked old pal and Faces band mate Rod Stewart to be best man at his wedding to theater producer Sally Humphreys next year.
Stewart, who was in the Faces with the Rolling Stones guitarist in the early Seventies before they both went on to greater fame, is expected to make the speech at the ceremony in London. “Ronnie might be nervous when Rod makes the speech – they have been in a lot of scrapes over the years so he will have a lot of stories to tell!” the Mirror quoted a source as saying. Stewart, 67, has been pals with Wood, 65, for nearly 50 years. He will share his best man duties with Wood’s current bandmate Keith Richards and one of the guitarist’s three sons – Tyrone, 29, Jesse, 36, or stepson Jamie, 38. Wood and Humphreys, who have been dating for six months, are planning to tie the knot at a central London register office early in the new year, possibly on New Year’s Day. They are likely to pick Old Marylebone Town Hall – where Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Liam Gallagher all wed. ANI
