London: Russell Brand, who is now based in Los Angeles, showed that he is still a Londoner at heart by taking to his blog to voice his concerns about the recent riots in UK, calling them ‘sad and frightening.’
The 36-year-old comedian revealed in the blog on his official website entitled ‘Big Brother Isn’t Watching You’ that he was feeling guilty for not being in the affected boroughs. “I’ve lived in Dalston, Hackney, Elephant, Camden and Bethnal Green,” the Daily Mail quoted him as writing. “I grew up round Dagenham and Romford and whilst I could never claim to be from the demographic most obviously affected I feel guilty that I’m not there now. “I feel proud to be English, proud to be a Londoner (alright an Essex boy) never more so than since being in exile and I naturally began to wonder what would make young people destroy their communities,” he added.
