London: British funnyman Russell Brand has been named the World`s Sexiest Vegetarian by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
The 36-year-old actor, who was recently invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Art and Sciences, has beaten comedian Joaquin Phoenix to land the top spot, reported Daily Star online.
On the female front, `Bridesmaids` star Kristen Wiig finished ahead of Oscar winning actress Natalie Portman and `Bride Wars` star Anne Hathaway.
The meat-free celebrity list is compiled annually by activists at PETA.
