Mumbai: Sanjay Dutt has applied for an extension of his furlough by 14 days. He has been out of the Yerwada jail since December 24, 2014.

Dutt had been out on parole earlier too on a number of occasions and had sought extension for the same. The Bollywood actor was out once to treat his knee, on the other occasion to take care of his hospitalised wife and look after his twin toddlers.

The Supreme Court in a statement convicted the Bollywood actor for illegal possession of arms in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts case and had sentenced him to six years imprisonment.

Dutt had served 18 months in jail earlier and is now serving his remaing 42-month-jail-term in Pune’s Yerwada Jail.
