Sean Penn rescues assistant

London: Actor Sean Penn has reportedly played the character of a real-life hero by taking his assistant to hospital after she fell and injured her arm in the shower.

The 51-year-old `Milk` star was snapped looking concerned as he helped his employee to get into a California hospital, Daily Star reported. Penn wrapped his aide in a towel and drove her to the nearest medical facility and then waited nervously outside with his girlfriend Shannon Costello. The assistant is now recovering at home as doctors managed to pop the elbow back into place. PTI
