Mumbai: Is the King Khan extending the olive branch to arch enemy Salman Khan? Or was Shah Rukh Khan being politically correct in front of people?
Recently at an awards function, SRK had to give out an award which incidentally went to Salman and in his absence, SRK wished his once friend now enemy was present to receive the award himself.
We all know how the two Khans have been warring for years now. So much so that the cold war has at times extended to their extended circle. But it seems SRK is in a mood to bury the hatchet.
On Tuesday evening at an awards function, SRK was there to announce the award for the Best Onscreen Couple.
Speaking to a daily, a source said, "Keeping in mind that the presenters` and the winners` parts are scripted, it`s obvious that SRK would know who was winning in the category." Eyewitness account says that the actor didn`t seem too surprised while reading out the names of the winners Salman and Kareena Kapoor.
Both Salman and Kareena were not present at the event and instead, Salman`s sister Alvira and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, who produced ‘Bodyguad’ went up on the stage to receive the award on Salman`s behalf.
Now, not too long ago, Alvira was in news when her bb status read ‘Even a Super Hero needs a Bodyguard’ on the day of the release of SRK’s ‘RA.One’.
Surprisingly, there was no awkwardness when Alvira and Atul went up the stage and SRK was extremely warm and friendly towards them and announced "Wish Salman and Kareena were here to receive their award”.
When the daily contacted Atul, the producer was elated that his film had won the award. On being asked if there was any awkwardness with SRK, he said, "The category was after SRK`s act. So I guess he knew he was giving away this award."
Speaking about Shah Rukh`s statement, Atul said, "Yes, he did say something to that effect. But I don`t think there`s too much to read into that, irrespective of the so called history."
As for wife Alvira`s status message on her phone, Atul said, " I don`t know how these stories came about. But there was no awkwardness at all."
Wonder what Salman has to say about the recent developments.
