Mumbai: Having earned infamy for all wrong reasons, Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja seems to have got back to some serious networking after a long time.
According to sources, Shiney was spotted dancing and having a good time at politician Vasant Davkharey`s birthday bash recently. He was accompanied by his wife, Anupam. Actors Vivek Oberoi, Kader Khan and Sohail Khan were also seen at the party.
A source present at the party said that Shiney was happily posing and dancing and mingled with the guests. Looks like Shiney is trying to get his feet back in Bollywood through these social indulgences.
Shiney was released from Arthur Road jail in Mumbai on May 3rd on bail. Earlier, the Sewri fast track sessions court had sentenced him to seven years` imprisonment on March 30 after holding him guilty of raping his 20-year-old maid at his Andheri house in 2009.
Two of Shiney`s films had got stuck as a result of his imprisonment.
"Shiney wants to take a jab at Bollywood again — that is where his prime interest lies and he is not willing to give up on his dream yet. His wife, Anupam is also trying a lot to help him get back in the industry. We think he has already begun to send out feelers to his Bollywood colleagues that he is looking for a return," said the source.
However, none of the B-town filmmakers have shown any interest in the actor yet, who was convicted of the charge. "Nobody has said yes to him, yet. That was expected but we are sure that he won`t stop trying," the source added.
Shiney is apparently banking on the fact that some of his colleagues had come out in his support when he was being tried in the court. "He is a good actor and has done quite a few good movies. He looked like a brand new Shiney Ahuja at the party," the source ended.
