New Delhi: Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan says her director husband Shirish Kunder is very supportive and never stops her from following her dreams.
"I got married really late. But I have added more dreams and passions after marriage because I really have a very supportive husband. I acted in a film after my marriage. I think it`s very important to have the support of your husband if you are a working mother. You can`t have it all if you don`t have the support of your spouse," Farah said.
Farah, 48, got married to Kunder in 2004. The couple was blessed with triplets in February, 2008. She has a son, Czar, and two daughters, Diva and Anya.
The choreographer is currently busy with the auditions of her new show ‘Dance India Dance Super Moms’ on Zee TV. She was in the Capital to audition contestants from Northern region.
The dance reality show provides a platform to mothers to showcase their dancing talent. She would be co-judging the show with Marzi Pestonji. The show is a continuation of Dance India Dance (DID) series.
"It`s called supermoms show and I don`t think there is more apt show that I should be doing. It`s about mothers who want to dance and I know how difficult it is when you have kids and Marzi was a bonus. It`s a good show, especially in India where a lot of women give up their passion after they get married and have kids. It`s a way of telling women that it`s important to follow your dreams."
She has earlier judged ‘Indian Idol series 1 and 2’, ‘DID Li`l Masters’ and ‘Just Dance’ among other reality shows.
Farah got her first break into Bollywood with the film `Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar` after ace-choreographer Saroj Khan left the project. Since then she has choreographed the biggest stars of Bollywood in films including `Dabangg`, `Moonson Wedding`, `Dil Chahta Hai` and `Dil Se` among others.
The choreographer turned to direction in 2004. Her first film `Main Hoon Naa` starring Shahrukh Khan proved to be a commercial success at the Box-office. After that she has directed `Om Shanti Om` and `Tees Maar Khan`.
When asked about her latest venture `Happy New Year`, she said, "Heroine is not yet final. There are rumours every day. People are casting for me every day. We will begin shooting the film from September."
