Mumbai: B-town habitants are used to threats from the underworld. The latest to become a target of the infamous warlords of Mumbai is the veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra.
Bollywood sources confirm that a gangster named Ravi Pujari has been calling the offices of Yash Raj Films in Oshiwara and demanding the protection amount of Rs 50 lakh from Yash Chopra.
In return, Chopra has gone ahead and sent a letter to the Zonal DCP about the harassment that he is going through at the hands of Pujari, subsequently which, extra security has being provided to Chopra.
Meanwhile, police is investigating the matter by tapping Yash Chopra’s phone call.
This is however, not the first time Pujari or his gang members have threatened a film personality. Before Chopra, Ayesha Takia`s husband Farhan Azmi received threat calls in a similar fashion. Filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Ravi Kapoor have also received threats from the same gang.
Yash Chopra remained unavailable to comment when tried contacting, though his spokesperson has denied any harassment from Pujari.
