Devdas – This movie based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novella Devdas, the movie fetched Aishwarya Rai the Best Actress award. In a typical Sanjay Leela Bhansali style, Aishwarya as Paro portrayed a character drowned in exquisite, regal looks. Ash was praised for her acting in this film.

Jodhaa Akbar – Aishwarya starred opposite Greek god Hrithik Roshan in this historical drama film which turned out to be a blockbuster. This movie too, was host to a string of awards. Hrithik Roshan and Ash were appreciated for their on-screen chemistry and lavish historical looks.

Dhoom 2 – One of the most talked about thing in this Sanjay Gadhvi 's action flick was the famous kiss between Ash and Hrithik. However, there was more to this movie than that kiss. Aishwarya emerged as an epitome of 'perfect body' for her blithe figure and received praise from the entire tinsel town.

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam – In the magnum opus of  Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aishwarya broke all stereotypes about her looks and proved that she can be a wonderful actress too. The movie depicts Aishwarya as a jovial Nandini, and she showcased her exquisite dancing skills too. Ash received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Guzaarish – Based on the story of a quadriplegic magician filing an appeal for euthanasia, Aishwarya as Sofia D'Souza was beyond magnificent in this film. The tenderness and emotion that she reflected in this role as a nurse was much appreciated. This certainly was another turning point in her career, bringing out the best in her.
