When Chef Vikas Khanna made Narendra Modi proud!

New Delhi: Michelin starred chef Vikas Khanna makes the spotlight follow him wherever he goes. He has not only done his country proud internationally but has also been a prominent name in his field.

Recently, in a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, chef Vikas Khanna made PM proud.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Modi said, “You have made me very proud.”

To which ecstatic Khanna replied, “I must make mamma talk to the PM”.

Later Vikas shared with reporters that, “I became very emotional when the PM hugged me. I am an emotional fool”, “It was not my dinner; it was done by all the other people... Thousands of people... Thousands of years... The whole cuisine was given birth by them, I just dressed things up,”.

Dinner was hosted for some of the world’s biggest CEOs in New York. The dishes prepared that night were were taken from Khanna’s book, Utsav, a 1,200-page, 15-kg tome that brings together dishes of 26 festivals and 50 ceremonies.
