Chandigarh: Spiritualism is important in life as it helps create balance in life, feels veteran actor and television presenter Annu Kapoor.
"Spiritualism is important in life as it helps create a balance. I practice yoga and meditation and propagate that everybody should follow a spiritual programme," Kapoor said here last evening.
The 54-year-old actor-host is in the city to present a spiritual programme and promote Tathaastu, an international spiritual magazine, along with New York based spiritual healer Chamunda Swami and legendary bhajan singer Anup Jalota.
Kapoor, who is best remembered for hosting the singing reality show `Antakshari`, said he is juggling a lot of work from anchoring shows to acting and donning the producer`s hat. He also said he will announce his feature film next year, the script for which is ready.
Meanwhile, Swami and editor-in-chief of the magazine, Georgy Bhaala, said in the present decade there has been a growing inclination towards Yoga and alternate healing therapies in the United States.
"Yoga studios have mushroomed in many parts of the US while Chinese therapies are also a fad," said Bhaala, whose bi-monthly magazine Tathaastu or So Be It, also sells in Mexico, Finland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand and would be launched in India next year.
Bhaala said that recently a grand Yoga Festival was held in New York`s Central Park, "another sign that yoga is gaining huge popularity in the US."
On spiritualism, Swami said "it makes you strong from within. For turning spiritual, one does not have to sacrifice or leave something we do in our daily lives. It`s connecting deep within yourself to help you become a better being."
"Spiritualism and meditation help harness positive energy from the negative forces around us and one can use them to control mind for a successful, tranquil and peaceful life," Swami said.
