Another Nirbhaya: Minor found dead, mutilated in Haryana

A body of a minor girl with injury marks was found in Jind in Haryana on Sunday. The marks reveal that she was sexually assaulted before her death.

JIND: A chilling case has emerged where a minor was raped and her body was found mutilated in Jind in Haryana. The injury marks bring back the memories of the brutal 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape case in which the vicmtim died while battling her injuries.

Initial probe shows that she was sexually assaulted and her private parts were mutilated. "The body had many injury marks, private parts were mutilated and there were a lot of internal injuries. Signs of sexual assault are visible and looks like 3-4 people were responsible. A hard and blunt thing was inserted inside her. Signs of drowning were also found," Dr SK Dattarwal from PGI Rohtak said.

FIR has been registered under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). "Two special investigation teams have been constituted to probe the case," Deputy SP Kaptan Singh said.

Her postmortem is being conducted at a forensic lab in Rohtak.

"My daughter was kidnapped and raped. The culprits should be punished, we want justice for her. If administration had done its job well, an incident like this would have never happened," father of the victim said.
