7-member team to represent India World Junior TT

A seven-member team will represent India in the World Junior Table Tennis Championships to be held in Bratislava, Slovakia from December 4 to 11.

New Delhi: A seven-member team will represent India in the World Junior Table Tennis Championships to be held in Bratislava, Slovakia from December 4 to 11.
The team, which left for Slovakia in the wee hours today, consists of four boys and three girls apart from two officials in Bhawani Mukherjee (coach) and Chiranjib Choudhury (manager). The boy’s team will be spearheaded by Soumyajit Ghosh along with Gnanasekaran Sathiyan, Harmeet Desai and Sourav Saha, while promising Kritiwika Sinharoy, Manika Batra and Mallika Bhandarkar will form the girls squad.As a matter of fact, this is the first time Indian paddlers have qualified for the world junior meet after finishing third in the qualifying tournament, the Asian Junior Championships, which was held in Bangkok from July 21-25 earlier this year.
