Men and women win gold at shooting championship

Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and BSF earned a gold medal each in their respective groups at the 23rd All India G V Mavalankar shooting championship here on Sunday.

Vinay Vishwasrao Patil of Maharashtra scored 268 points in free pistol 50-metre men`s individual event and bagged a gold medal. In free pistol 50-metre junior men`s individual event, Sharad Sharma of Uttarakhand scored 260 points to win gold. Daljeet Kaur of BSF won gold at sports pistol 25-metre women`s individual event by scoring 275 points and Sandeep Kaur of Punjab scored 260 points in sports pistol 25-metre junior women`s individual and bagged a gold medal. Harjot Singh of Chandigarh scored 265 points in the sports pistol 25-metre junior men`s individual event to win gold.
