Glock likely to miss final test after appendix op

Germany`s Timo Glock is likely to miss Formula One`s final pre-season test in Barcelona next week after having his appendix removed, his Virgin Racing team said on Tuesday.

London: Germany`s Timo Glock is likely to miss Formula One`s final pre-season test in Barcelona next week after having his appendix removed, his Virgin Racing team said on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old had surgery in Switzerland on Monday after a sudden case of appendicitis and the team said he was unlikely to be at the March 8-11 test, although a decision would be made next week."The procedure was routine and Timo is recovering well in hospital in Switzerland, where he is likely to remain for a further 24 hours," said team principal John Booth. "To ensure a swift recovery, it is unlikely that he will take part in next week`s test in Barcelona and that (Belgian rookie) Jerome (d`Ambrosio) will run on all four days instead."The season starts in Australia on March 27 after the original March 13 opener in Bahrain was called off due to anti-government unrest.
