India beat Vietnam 5-0 in Asian Youth U-19 C`ship

Lucknow: Indian colts thrashed Vietnam 5-0 in the mixed team event of the Asia Youth Under-19 Championships being played at the BBD UP Badminton academy on Saturday.

Srikanth K and Maneesha K started the proceedings for India as the duo saw off Tan Luong Khandh and Huyen Le Thu 21-13 21-13 in just 18 minutes. Sameer Verma then took the court and the Madhya Pradesh lad sent Duc Do Tuan packing in just 19 minutes, notching up a 21-5 21-11 victory in the men`s singles. P V Sindhu then gave India a 3-0 lead by getting across Mai Anh Nguyen Thi 21-8 21-8 in another 18-minute women`s singles match here.Men`s doubles pair of Srikanth and Hemanagendra Babu T then tamed Duc Do Tuan and Tan Luong Khandh 21-18 21-14, while women`s doubles combo of Maneesha and Sindhu beat Huyen Le Thu and Nhu Thao Pham 21-14 21-18 in 23 minutes to complete the mauling for India.
