Prakash bows out of doubles event of US ATP Challenger

Prakash Amritraj and his partner Kevin Kim made a first round exit from doubles event of the ATP Challenger tournament in Knoxville in the US after losing in straight sets to Davey Sandgren and John-Patrick Smith.

The unseeded Indo-American pair lost 2-6, 3-6 to American-Australian wild card entrants in their opening match of the USD 50,000 hard court event. Prakash will now hope to do well in the singles event as he faces South African Davis Cupper Izak van der Merwe in the first round tomorrow.Somdev Devvarman is seeded sixth and will clash against Roko Karanusic of Croatia in his opening clash. For the doubles event, Somdev has paired with compatriot Purav Raja.Also in the fray is Harsh Mankad, who has paired with Conard Treat Huey of Philippines. Bureau Report
