New Delhi: Aishwarya Rai, the girl whose marriage has been fixed with Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav, was chosen by Rabri Devi. The marriage is scheduled to take place on May 12 in Patna and almost 10,000 people including hundreds of VVIPs including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi are expected to attend the function.
Former Bihar chief minister and Tej Pratap Yadav's mother Rabri Devi had finalised the marriage in mid March when she met Aishwarya's parents at their residence in Patna. Rabri, the wife of RJD supremo and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad, also decided on the dates for the engagement ceremony and wedding in consultation with Aishwarya's father Chandrika Prasad Rai and her mother.
Aishwarya pursued her schooling at Notre Dame Academy in Patna in Bihar, following which she moved to Delhi for further education. She hails from Chapra and is the granddaughter of former Bihar chief minister Daroga Prasad Rai. Her father, Chandrika Rai, has also been a minister in Bihar government. She has one sister, Ayushi Rai who is an engineer, and one brother Apurva Rai, who is pursuing education in law. Aishwarya is the eldest among her siblings. Her mother Poornima Rai is an assitant professor in Patna Women's College.
