Terrorists attack police party in Jammu and Kashmir; one cop martyred

One policeman was martyred and a PSO was injured when terrorists attacked a police party in Zakura Hazratbal area in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Srinagar: One policeman was martyred and a  special police officer (SPO) was injured when terrorists attacked a police party in Zakura Hazratbal area in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

The cop killed was posted as a sub-inspector with the J&K Police.

Three militants travelling in a car opened fire on a police team at the Zakura crossing on Srinagar-Ganderbal road, killing sub-inspector Imran Tak and injuring to a special police officer (SPO), a police official said.

Following the incident, the security forces have cordoned off the area and combing operations are underway to flush out the terrorists.
