New Delhi: With results indicating a resounding victory for Congress in Karnataka, its jubilant leaders on Wednesday sharpened their attack on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi- the BJP‘s prominent face for 2014 polls. Speaking to reporters in the national capital, Union Telecommunication Minister Kapil Sibal said, “The trends coming from the southern state and the results declared so far have proved that Narendra Modi is a big zero.” “Narendra Modi’s magic has clearly failed to work in Karnataka. It has been proved that he is a big zero. He has no impact on the voters of Karnataka,” Sibal said. Taking a pot shot at the Gujarat Chief Minister, Sibal said, “The outcome of the assembly elections in Karnataka is a big lesson for the ruling BJP which follows a double standards in the states where it is in power and at the Centre where it is in the opposition.” Sibal had earlier taken pot shots at Modi by saying, the internal bickering within the BJP would frustrate his bid for prime ministership. About Modi`s aspiration to take central stage for the top job, Sibal said, "Delhi is a distant dream for him.”
