While in 2014, the constituency registered 78.26 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1411854 while the total voter's turnout was 1104862.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, K Kamaraj had managed to get 53,3383 votes to defeat R Manimaran of the DMK who secured 309,876 votes
