Lalganj is one of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. Voting in Lalganj Lok Sabha constituency in the sixth phase was on May 12 and counting is on May 23.

In the politically crucial state of Uttar Pradesh, 54 percent polling was reported in 14 constituencies.

Lalganj parliamentary constituency comprises of five assembly segments namely Atrauliy, Atraulia Nizamabad, Phoolpur Pawai, Didarganj and Lalganj.

In 2014 Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janata Party's Neelam Sonkar had won the Lalganj Lok Sabha constituency with a margin of 63,086 votes.

Neelam Sonkar had bagged 3,24,016 votes as against Samajwadi Party's Bechai Saroj who secured 2,60,930 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's Dr Baliram came third with 2,33,971 votes.
