New Delhi: The Sensex hit fresh all-time intra-day high of 30,579.23 while the Nifty crossed the 9,500-mark for the first time during afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Sentiment remained upbeat mostly on robust foreign fund inflows and a better-than-expected earnings report card by some blue-chip companies so far, besides overnight gains in Europe and the US markets.
The 30-share BSE index last quoted up by 266.82 points, or 0.88 percent, to 30,588.94 after moving in range of 30,590.71-30,363.37. The gauge had rallied 134 points in the previous session.
The National Stock Exchange index Nifty did not disappoint either, last quoted 70.05 points, or 0.74 percent up at 9,515.45 after making its all-time intra-day high of 9,517.20.
