Puducherry: Kunal Ramesh Chandekar from Andhra Pradesh has topped the entrance examination for MBBS course in the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research here.
Institute`s Dean K S Reddy said Chandekar, who hails from Secunderabad, scored highest marks among the 52,298 candidates by getting 174 out of 200.
He is followed by Hemnath Amardeep Santhoor of Bangalore and T N C Pranav of Hyderabad, with both scoring 172 marks.
Bayee Swapna from West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh scored highest marks with 161 in the category of Scheduled Caste candidates.
JIPMER, an autonomous institution under the Union Health Ministry, has an intake of 150 seats in the first year MBBS course, including 40 earmarked for the candidates from the Union Territory of Puducherry.
The individual marks and ranks of all candidates who appeared for the test will be available on institute`s website.
