Bayern Munich to play for under privileged children Kolkata: Top German club Bayern Munich will play a charity football match here to support the street children of Kolkata.

A red carpet welcome awaits FC Bayern Allstars comprising five former World Cuppers when they arrive midnight tonight to play a charity football match to support the city's street children here.

A 22-member squad comprising former World Cup winners Paul Breitner, Reimond Aumann, Andreas Brehme, Hans Pflugler, Stefan Reuter and others will arrive here to play a charity football match against Allstars East Bengal at Yuba Bharati Krirangan on November 17.

FC Bayern, winners of Germany's Bundes Liga, have been quite active for past three years in promoting soccer and other community services in the city.

Towards Life Foundation, an NGO working for city's street children has convinced the German team and Indian soccer giants East Bengal to play a friendly match for the benefit of street children of the city.

Former international defender of East Bengal Sudhir Karmakar will lead his side and Goutam Sarkar as his deputy in the floodlight game.

The funds to be raised from the match will go for welfare of the poor.
