AAP expels its national council member Ashwini Upadhyay
Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday expelled its national council member Ashwini Upadhyay for "anti-party activities" after he planned to move a proposal of removing Arvind Kejriwal as party National Convener.

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday expelled its national council member Ashwini Upadhyay for "anti-party activities" after he planned to move a proposal of removing Arvind Kejriwal as party National Convener.
"AAP has expelled Ashwini Upadhyay due to his repeated involvement in the anti-party activities and his failure to response to a show cause notice served to him," said a statement issued by the party.
Upadhyay, however, denied the party`s claim of any notice being served on him.
"The party has expelled me today on the grounds that I did not respond to the show cause notice. I did not get any such intimation," said Upadhyay.
Earlier in the day, Upadhyay called meeting of a national council members of AAP and had claimed that about 60 to 70 members would turn up for the event, however, the number was far to less to what he had claimed.
For the past few days Upadhyay has been attacking the party over several issues including the selections of the candidate and its funding.
He had also staged a protest outside Kejriwal house for his demand.
