Zee Media Bureau New Delhi: Union Minister and Congress senior leader Kapil Sibal on Friday took on BJP`s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi claiming that there is Rs 3,000 crores yearly loss to the state due to illegal supply of liquor which is banned in Gujarat. Also further adding that the bootlegging is not possible in the state without prior information to the Gujarat police. ``Bootlegging can not flourish without the knowledge of Gujarat Police,`` Sibal told reporters. He also challenged Modi for investigation and said, ``Will Modiji make a fast-track court for the illegal supply of liquor in Gujarat, initiate investigation against himself and others``. Gujarat had banned alcohol consumption since 1961. However bootlegged alcohol `hooch` , is widely available, allegedly under the patronage of the local police. Gujrat government introduced a bill in the state Assembly to amend the Prohibition Law, calling for penal action up to death penalty for those convicted in spurious liquor cases.
