Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) (JVM) chief Babulal Marandi on Monday accused Congress, BJP as well as JMM for the prevailing state of affairs of Jharkhand while appealing to people to vote for his party to ensure rapid development.

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) (JVM) chief Babulal Marandi on Monday accused Congress, BJP as well as JMM for the prevailing state of affairs of Jharkhand while appealing to people to vote for his party to ensure rapid development.
Addressing an election meeting at Agrico Maidan here, Marandi said the country was weakened under the rule of Congress and BJP. Marandi expressed apprehension that the security of the people of the country was not safe in the hands of the two national parties, referring to the riots of 1984 and 2002. "They wanted to rule the state from Delhi with a remote control and loot the minerals of the state," he said. Attacking BJP`s tall claims over Gujarat development model, Marandi asked if it was so, why did BJP, which had ruled Jharkhand for longer period since the state was created in 2000, not develop Jharkhand like Gujarat? The people of the country were also fed up with scams and price rise during the ten-year rule of Congress-led UPA government, he said while appealing to people to provide a chance to JVM to ensure all-round development in Jharkhand. Lambasting JMM`s double standard, Marandi said while the party had formed government in alliance with BJP in Jharkhand, it had supported the UPA government at Centre. Their only motive was "Dalali" (brokering) for political gain, he alleged claiming that over 5,000 naxal incidents had taken place in Jharkhand. A former Jharkhand Chief Minister, Marandi accused BJP of sheltering criminals and inducting most number of criminals into the party.
