Rs 1.47 crore cash seized; two persons held in Andhra
Cash worth Rs 1.47 crore was seized from a car showroom and two persons were arrested in this connection in Bhimavaram of West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

Rajahmundry: Cash worth Rs 1.47 crore was seized from a car showroom and two persons were arrested in this connection in Bhimavaram of West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, police said.
"Cash of Rs 1,47,87,500 kept inside a Maruti car in a company showroom in Galaparru of Bhimavaram town in West Godavari district was seized and two persons were later arrested in this connection," Bhimavaram Two Town Circle Inspector R G Jaya Surya said.
The action was a part of measures to stop the illegal movement of cash involving any candidate or any political party.
A case has been registered in this connection and further probe is on.
Meanwhile, East Godavari District collector and Election Officer Neetu Prasad said here in a statement tonight that so far Rs 8.69 crore worth unaccounted cash (including today`s seizure), liquor and other material was seized in the district as part of elections raids conducted by excise, police, and election officials.
"Out of the total amount, Rs 7.40 crore was unaccounted amount and remaining amount contain liquor and other materials illegally transporting, to distribute voters in the district," she added.
Elections for the Lok Sabha as well as assembly seats in Seemandhra will be held on May 7.
