Surat: Surat Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shobha Bhutada has filed a complaint alleging that she has been getting threat calls from rape accused self-styled godman Asaram`s supporters.
Reports on Monday said that the Surat DCP has claimed in her complaint that the godman`s supporters have threatened her to immediately stop the probe against Asaram and his son Narayan Sai in connection with the sexual assault cases recently filed against the father-son duo or otherwise she will be shot dead.

Confirming the development, Inspector CK Patel said, "Shobha Bhutada received a threatening phone call saying she should stop looking for Asaram`s son Narayan Sai or she would be shot. The mobile number used is registered to a Dashrat Singh in MP."

Asaram and his son Narayan Sai have both been accused in a sexual assault case by two Surat-based sisters.
Narayan Sai has been on the run despite a lookout notice against him. His anticipatory bail plea will be heard in a Surat court today.

Asaram`s wife and daughter will also be produced before an SIT Monday.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is also expected to hear today Asaram`s plea seeking a restriction on media coverage of his trial in the sexual assault case.
