SGPC, HSGMC supporters clash over Kurukshetra gurdwara

Kurukshetra: The issue over management control of a gurdwara here took a violent turn on Wednesday when supporters of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) clashed with each other.

When police tried to intervene, HSGMC supporters clashed with them as well, as per reports.
The police then had to resort to lathicharge and use of water canons.

The two groups have been at loggerheads over management control of Gurdwara Chhevin Patshahi.

At present, it is managed by the SGPC.
When the HSGMC was formed, the Haryana government had announced that the former`s headquarters would be located at this historic gurdwara.
