London, Apr 10: Pop superstar Madonna, whose plea to adopt Malawian child Mercy James was turned down by a judge, is planning to build a home in the African country.
The judge had turned down Madonna`s plea over `residency rules` last week. According to the Malawian adoption law prospective parents are required to live in the country for 18 months before adopting a local child.
And now the `Material Girl` has instructed her architects to draw up plans for a home in Malawi in an effort to keep her adopted son David Banda close to his roots, a news website reported.
"Madonna has a big, beautiful plot of land over there already. She`s planning to build a girl`s school in the Chinkhota village and those designs are well under way.
"But she`s gone back to the designers and asked if they could accommodate a family home on the plot or on adjacent land," a source told the British newspaper.
The singer was reportedly left `heart broken` after the upset and has filed an appeal in the Supreme court of the country. She has also instructed her lawyers to do everything possible to make her adoption bid successful.
