Indore: Two persons including a one-year-old girl, suspected to be suffering from H1N1 (swine flu) virus, have died here in the last 24 hours.

The girl's condition turned critical today during treatment at a private hospital. She was rushed to swine flu ward of Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital (MYH) where doctors pronounced her dead, said Dr Sanjay Dixit, in-charge dean of the government-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College.

Her symptoms were similar to that of swine flu, he said, adding that the girl's sample couldn't be taken as she was brought dead, so the infection could not be confirmed.

A 35-year-old woman with suspected swine flu symptoms died yesterday. In her case too the sample could not be collected in time, he said.

Six people have tested positive for swine flu this month and five of them have succumbed (apart from the aforesaid two victims).
