New Delhi: Coconut water is considered as one of the healthiest drinks. Who doesn't like to have a sip of this healthy drink? Well, it is well known that drinking coconut water is good for health but nobody knows that it also has certain disadvantages if one happens to consume it in excess.
Here are some side effects of this healthy drink when consumed in excess which we should know:
Ups calories: Those who wants to burn calories should limit the intake of coconut water as excessive drinking increases the calories amount in the body. Coconut water doesn’t contain as much sugar as many sports drinks and fruit juices but it contributes to calories.
So, it is advisable not to consume this healthy drink in excess.
Increases blood sugar: Though the sugar content is low in coconut water, but it contains carbohydrates and calories. People with blood sugar should not consume coconut water everyday and should give it a miss in between as it can increase the sugar level in the body.
Increases blood pressure: Well it might come as a shock to some as the healthy drink, coconut water is high on sodium. Those people suffering from high blood pressure shouldn't ideally consume it as it can increase the blood pressure.
