President Pranab Mukherjee to give away Padma awards on Monday

The late Dhirubhai Ambani, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Anupam Kher, Ajay Devgn and Saina Nehwal are among the prominent personalities who will be conferred the Padma awards by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday.

New Delhi: The late Dhirubhai Ambani, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Anupam Kher, Ajay Devgn and Saina Nehwal are among the prominent personalities who will be conferred the Padma awards by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday.

"President Pranab Mukherjee will present five Padma Vibhushan, eight Padma Bhushan and 43 Padma Shri awards tomorrow (March 28) at a civil investiture ceremony to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan," an official statement said on Sunday.

The president will confer Padma Vishushan on Ambani (posthumously), Avinash Kamalakar Dixit, Jagmohan, Yamini Krishnamuthi and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Hafeez Sorabe Contractor, Barjinder Singh Hamdard, Kher, Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry, Saina, Vinod Rai, Alla Ventaka Rama Rao and Duvvur Nageshwar Reddy will receive the Padma Bhushan.

The Padma Shri awardees include Mylswamy Annadurai, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ajay Devgan, Deepika Kumari and Mohammed Imtiaz Qureshi.
