Srinagar: Authorities in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Thursday handed over to Jammu and Kashmir government officials the body of an Indian national who had drowned in Jhelum river last week.
Body of Hafizullah Mir (50) was handed over to Uri Tehsildar MA Chouhan and SDPO RP Singh at Kaman post on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road near the Line of Control (LoC) this afternoon, official sources said.
Mir had gone missing along with two other persons, including his 16-year-old son Nayeem Ahmad Mir, all of whom were feared drowned on Saturday while they were fishing in the river near their house in Uri sector of Baramulla district.
While the body of Aftab Ahmad Khatana was fished out on Monday from Dulanja on this side of LoC, Hafizullah`s body was found by PoK authorities on Tuesday.
