Keeping in view of the devastating deluge of last September, the Central government understands the kind of panic among people of Kashmir which is again facing floods and is prepared to deal with the situation, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said here on Monday.

He said the Centre and the state government will work together and provide all kinds of help required.

"Whatever is necessary we will do. We will together work for the relief," Rijiju told reporters here.

"We understand the kind of panic among people because they have faced such difficulties in September as well. So, we are all prepared. We will not leave any gap and work to the fullest," he said.

He said relief teams were working and would provide whatever help required to the affected people.

"We will soon give information on the current situation in Kashmir. Last time also our Home Secretary stayed for four days in Srinagar and personally looked into all works," he said.
Rijiju dismissed the allegations of delay in rehabilitation of the those hit by last year's deluge.

"It is not the time for blame game or to make excuses. It is not the time for politics," he said.

Seven months after the devastating floods, Kashmir valley is facing yet another flood following incessant rains with river Jhelum in spate at several places. 16 people were feared trapped after two houses collapsed in Budgam district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi rushed Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi to Kashmir for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage and assured the state of all assistance.
