Bangalore: The independent candidates have found a unique way to reach out to the voters. With symbols of mainstream parties etched in the minds of people, the independents are now looking for interesting new symbols that can help in adding their popularity and help them connect instantly with the voters. Election Commission has drawn a list of at least 75 symbols from which the independent candidates can choose their respective symbols, as per news report. The highest demand by the candidates is for various symbols related to cricket. With the elections taking place in the IPL season, there is reportedly mad rush between the candidates who are eyeing batsman and cricket bat symbols. Other symbols include telephone, gas cylinder, television and autorickshaw. An independent candidate, Chand Pasha, contesting from Hebbal said that he chose the bat symbol due to immense popularity that the game enjoys.
