Kozhikode district panchayat elections 2015: Check results here

The Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) won 47 seats, Congress-led United Democratic Front 20 and the Bharatiya Janata Party 7 seats in the Kozhikode Corporation.

Kozhikode: The Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) won 47 seats, Congress-led United Democratic Front 20 and the Bharatiya Janata Party 7 seats in the Kozhikode Corporation.

A mighty seaport where Arab, Chinese and East African traders once converged, Kozhikode was previously the most important region of the Malabar Coast. Vasco da Gama landed on its shores in 1498, catapulting the region to global fame.

Kozhikode, Quilandy and Vadakara are the three talukas of the district.

Kozhikode went to panchayat polls in the first phase on November 2. The district registered voter turnout of 74%.
